About us
KidsPlay Children’s Museum operates over 11,000 sf of interactive, hands-on exhibits where children age 1 to 10 practice pre-academic skills, build curiosity and explore through developmental play. KidsPlay is a member of the Torrington School Readiness Council and works strategically with the Torrington Public Schools and other community partners to provide opportunities for informal family learning. The Museum presents learning concepts in ways that are meaningful and accessible to young children and enriches the educational landscape for families from across the socio-economic, cultural, and educational spectrum.

KidsPlay Children’s Museum is pleased to announce a significant transition within its Board of Directors! Ruth Nadeau Dwyer, Sara Kroscen, and Robin Ledversis have joined the board, bringing fresh enthusiasm and perspectives to KidsPlay’s work. Long-time board member Cathy Schmitz will take over the position of Secretary. What a wonderful evening! A big thank you to Northwest Community Bank for letting us be the host of their 2nd annual GALA Event and for all the support they have given to help us toward our goal of completely opening our new exhibit space at 57 Main Street!
The Northwest Community Bank Foundation proudly hosted our second annual GALA Event at KidsPlay Museum in Torrington, CT. We were honored to be joined by many of the non-profits who received grants. In all, 83 organizations received over $300,000 in 2023. These non-profit organizations provide much needed support in so many ways, helping families in need, offsetting food insecurity, providing behavioral health services, supporting individuals with disabilities, assisting with land preservation, and funding afterschool activities.
