Finally got to enjoy Roma tonight. Lots of great choices. Veal parmigiana was about as good as it gets. Escarole, beans and sausage, long hot peppers in a marinara sauce, and a huge meatball for our appetizers were all amazing. Must plan ahead as reservations are the only way to get in on a Friday or Saturday night. Understandable given the high quality of their food and service.

In the mood for clam chowder my mom and I stopped in for a quick lunch at the bar. It was amazing. The music was upbeat. The crowd was helpful- although I was asking strangers questions (which could be interepted as intrusive). That was not the case here.
I don't typically finish my food (very slow eater) but I ate all of clam chowder in one sitting. I ordered the calamari as to accompany my soup. They were superb. The freshest, lightest, yet satisfying calamari I've had in some time. The portion size is huge. My mom ordered chicken parm and she was impressed. My sister had some of her leftovers and asked where did we go because she had to dine there! Itook calamari home and my 8 and 9 year old devoured the leftovers I warmed lightly in the air fryer.
I plan to come back for a romantic dinner or maybe even solo date. I was told reservations are reccommended.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anthony D.New Fairfield, CT1013657Apr 21, 2024
This place is a Solid 4.5. I give it that rating because the drinks and service are excellent. The food is 2/10. . The "homemade cavatelli" is 1/10. $32 for some bleak pasta with less than Rao's sauce is sad.

We heard a lot of good things about Roma. Had to give it a try. It's in a quiet little neighborhood in Oakville/Watertown. You really have to look or you will miss it. Literally looks like one of the houses in that neighborhood. Parking isn't great. It's old school Italian vibes/taste, which is great. It's authentic Italian grandma style. The service was excellent and seated promptly. It was very busy and they still got us seated at our reserved table. Lately that's a big thing with reservations so kudos to them for that. We had the large meatball for an app which was delicious. Also tried the clams in tomato broth. That was meh. Wouldn't get clams again. We were told that Veal is the thing to get here and that was really accurate. The veal is phenomenal and would highly recommend if you enjoy any kind of veal. Cavatelli is a must try as well. Homemade and you can tell. Carrot Cake and Tiramisu are great homemade deserts. It is a little pricey for the location. They probably could be more realistic there on prices. That's why it's not 5 stars. To recap this is a great Italian spot that lives up to the hype. It's real Italian and not that Greek or Albanian garbage you get at so many places "claiming" to serve Italian cuisine. This is the real deal!!!

My husband wanted Italian for his birthday and thankfully I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant here on yelp! The space has a great ambiance and we were seated in a stunning room with a fireplace. The decor is beautiful and the wine room looked absolutely spectacular. The service was excellent and our server was so nice. We got plenty of appetizers to try and portions are so generous! Everyone loved everything! I especially loved their house made cavatelli. Our only regret is not saving room for dessert! One of the owners, Tommy, is so friendly and came to our table at the end of our meal and it was a great personable touch. Roma is great for night out with family and friends or a romantic date night spot. We cannot wait to come back!

This place was highly recommended by one of our coworkers, and I absolutely loved it. All the food that we got were amazing. By the time we got to our main entrees, we were already full and took the rest home. The service was great, but the only thing I will say is that it took over an hour since we got sat to get our main entrees. The vibes of the restaurant were great! I love the dimmed light, fancy restaurant feeling.

Very high end super fancy restaurant
Small, intimate, romantic ambiance
Not a place to bring children. More like for a date night or valentines dinner. The food is delicious. Be ready for an expensive check but its worth it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Richard S.Woodbury, CT0254Jan 25, 2024
